Let's grow together!!
We are a community gardening organization that focuses bringing people together to share garden advice, swap seeds & collect donations for the unsheltered. We work with mutual aid groups in Phoenix to get donations right to the hands of our neighbors.
We hold Large Fall and Spring Seed Swaps with giveaways, demonstrations, and swapping
Our annual Homemade Holiday Market is held in December. All of your local favorites are selling their homemade, homegrown and handpicked items and gifts just in time for the holidays!
Every 6-8 weeks we will hold a Meet & Greet. These are smaller, social events with seed swapping hosted by members at a local park around the valley. Want to host? Send us a DM on Instagram (@phoenixseedswap) or email us (phoenixseedswap@gmail.com).
How does the seed swapping work?
Option 1: Bring your own saved seeds in individual packets with your business/Instagram handle (set up a table or donate to the Seed Bank)
Option 2: Bring your own saved seeds in a bulk bag with the seed info and some envelopes so people can take what they need
Option 3: Bring seeds from companies you no longer want or need
Option 4: Come empty handed :) 100% okay!
By joining us on Instagram @phoenixseedswap, you will be able to find and follow local area gardeners. Each person that joins this community bring guidance, ideas and knowledge to the team. We all know we need it! Arizona Zone 9B is a harsh one and we (+ OUR PLANTS) literally need this community to survive!
We are inclusive to the entire community as long as everyone is here to support each other and have fun. This is NOT a place for bullying or judgement. This is a place for love and growing!
We work with multiple mutual aid groups in Phoenix to get donations right to the hands of our neighbors. The water bottles and food you donate will go straight to community refrigerators. Bags of goodies will be put together and handed directly to those in need.
Hi, I am Cody: the voice of the Phoenix Seed Swap. My life has changed SO much in the last three years thanks to gardening and this community. I want to see where we can take this!! My goal is to 'retire' from the corporate world and make the gardening community a full time job. This is the first step in that direction. Wish me luck! **update: I have started the business Garden Spaces LL**
Melissa currently helps run the ASU Garden Commons. She is also a Certified Master Gardener and has gardened all over the valley. She has hosted workshops and plant sales for years. Grow baby grow!
Dannie is the owner of her business Better In Suburbia. She offers salves, seeds, seed starts, sourdough starter and much more. She also breeds quail! Her bird math is questionable though ;)
Your donations will go directly to the encampments and people in need. We use these funds to buy water, food, toiletries, shoes and clothes, electrolyte drink packs and many other things that are requested from the communities in need.
